Annual Visit of Sri Nadadoor Ammal Thirumaligai Acharya and Perumal to Pallagacheri

The next day, Swami would witness the Teertha Vaari which is either done at the banks of the lake or at the temple itself(if there is no sufficient water in the lake) as well as perform Samashrayanam and Bharannyasam to Sishyas, as per their request.

During the initial years, Swami would be hosted at any one of the house in the Agrahara, but recently, the Sishyas of the village, built a house next to the Varadaraja Swamy temple with provision for stay of Thirumaligai’s presiding deity and Acharya. The building has been named as “Sri Nadadoor Ammal Thirumaligai”.

This year, due to copious rain the Pallagacheri lake was filled to the brim. As usual Sri U.Ve. Villur Nadadoor KarunakaracharyaSwami arrived at Pallagacheri on 4th Thai evening (17 January 2021), around 7.30 PM. After the reception at entrance of the village, Swami and Devigal were welcomed with Harathi in front of each house. Swami then proceeded to the Perundevi Nayika Sametha Varadaraja Swamy temple to perform mangalashasanam to Thayar, Perumal, acharyas Sri Bhagavad Ramanuja, Nadadoor Azhwan, Nadadoor Ammal and Swami Desikan. There after, Thirumaligai Perumal Sri Suvarna Lakshmidhara Navaneetha Nata Swami adorned the Sri Nadadoor Ammal Thirumaligai near the temple and Acharya Swami retired for the night at the Thirumaligai.

Next morning, on 18 January 2021, Thirumanjanam of Lord Varadaraja, presiding deity of temple took place. This was followed by Chakra Snana Teerhavari on the banks of lake. Then Lord Varadaraja was brought back to temple in a grand procession during which Acharya Swami, did Pillai Anthadhi thodakkam. At the same time, Bharnyasam and Samashrayanam for few Sishyas took place in front of Thirumaligai Deity.
